Zin in een nieuwe hoogst persoonlijke theaterervaring? Laat je onderdompelen in de wereld van CREW, ervaar zelf agnosie (=is het verlies van het vermogen om personen, voorwerpen, geluiden, geur et cetera te herkennen, terwijl de zintuiglijke waarneming wel intact is), en word protagonist van je eigen voorstelling. De voorstellingen van CREW bewijzen je dat je zintuigen onbetrouwbaar zijn. CREW opereert al jaren lang op het schemergebied tussen kunst en wetenschap en exploreert het theatrale potentieel van technologie. De immersieve technologie die CREW hanteert werd speciaal voor het gezelschap ontwikkeld. Toeschouwers worden omgedoopt tot ‘immersanten’, ze worden uitgerust met een oriëntatie tracker, een videobril en hoofdtelefoon. De beelden waarin de immersant wordt ondergedompeld zijn een mix van video-streams vanuit speciaal ontwikkelde omni-directionele camera’s.
In EUX ontdubbelt je eigen lichaam in een spiegelbeeld dat werkelijker blijkt dan jezelf. Deze gepersonaliseerde voorstelling bespeelt de grenzen van de zintuiglijke perceptie. Is de wereld om ons heen een voorstelling van onszelf – of is het net andersom? Als toeschouwer balanceer je op het snijpunt van realiteit en fictie, of liever virtuele realiteit. Onder de uitgekiende begeleiding van een acteur of een actrice worden de immersanten geteleporteerd van het ‘hier en nu’ naar het ‘niet hier en niet nu’, naar ‘hier maar niet nu’ en naar ‘nu maar niet hier’…en zelfs misschien, naar een lichaam buiten het eigen lichaam. Een desoriënterende ervaring!
